We are representing a leading health insurer to find a Data Analytics Specialist to join their team in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for all data analytics including development and delivery of analytics assets extracting value from data.
Responsibilities:
Develop reports on providers, clinicians & members utilization behaviour to identify trends/patterns and interpret the data to useable FWA scenarios for audit and investigation.
Develop, run, update and maintain scripts for behavioural or outliers to identifying waste and abuse by studying the market distribution and patterns using density and time series analysis.
Develop high quality dashboards using Power BI to inform management in decision-making
Independently create and prepare business case analyses for new cost optimization initiatives
Develop distinctive expertise in understanding components and drivers of medical inflation
Prepare, analyze and interpret statistical data, and is able to build highly advanced information assets, such as simulation models and predictive models
Develop distinctive expertise in a specific analytical field, in an independent and proactive fashion.
Requirements:
5+ years experience in the healthcare industry within data management or data analysis
5+ years experience applying advanced analytical techniques to decision making in the healthcare/insurance industry.
Minimum 2 years of experience in medical coding using CPT4 and ICD9 CM and one of the following coding systems: UCLS, DRG, MOH, HCPCS or SRVC
Minimum 2 years of experience in working with a particularly relevant capability, skill, or knowledge (e.g., pharmacy, lab, DRG’s, etc.) or demonstrated competency based on a set of analytical competency framework
Minimum 2 years of experience in FWA as at least highly desired but possibly required.
Bachelor’s degree required; strongly preferred fields are related to Computer Science or Programming, Statistics or Mathematics, Health Economics or Healthcare Management
Must have Analytics experience; hold solid analytical skills and data mining aptitude
Advanced Microsoft Office Applications and Power BI, with VBA being an asset
Good knowledge of health insurance concepts including the business understanding and background Knowledge of various medical billing Cost blocks and trends (e.g., pharmacy, lab, DRG’s, E&M etc.)
